Twinkling Bird

Honey you're my heart light, my beacon in the dark night
Baby you're my bright smile when the world's a frown
Even when I'm deadbeat, you get me on my tired feet
Make me do my best dance, spinning 'round and 'round
Momma you're my Strong Queen, really, you're my everything
I want to sing a new song, that you've never heard
And when you tuck me in tight, I dream of pretty starlight
Flying right beside me, my Twinkling Bird
You know I've had some hard times, days without a lifeline
Seen my share of midnights, that were lonely, cold
Running circles guessing, drowning in the questions.
"Could've, should've, would've," well it just gets old
When I take a face fall, end up in a slow crawl
You catch me with a soft style, and some simple words
I'm quickly cured
You 'mind me of the good things, my ever-loving Little Wing
I will always be your Twinkling Bird
What if I'm the last one, step slow of the fast one?
Would you shut the shop up, and pull my picture down
Momma will you be there, even when we're both scared?
Will you take my hand and steady shaky ground?
Cassie take a deep breath, we ain't even there yet
Lord knows when the time comes, I'm gonna trouble the nest
Watch you dive and crest
When you pull a heartstring, remember you're my Little Wing
And I will always be your, Twinkling Bird
No matter where you take to, my love will be inside you
Close your eyes and see me, your Twinkling Bird.
