Leaving

Leaving, starting new. Heavy feet are hard to move.
Taking off, 'fore the glue gets dry.
Hope you learned a thing or two, cuz buddy, when this is through
You better not ask why.
You took one good look, and it scared you silly
No one's asking, cuz you just ain't willing
Ivory's getting cold kid, let it ride.
You get one shot Sugar, better shake your maker
Don't roll over, like a schoolyard faker
It's right there, if you reach down deep inside.
Running fast, run away. Could it last? Would you stay?
Holding on, hoping you might find
Wake up cold, wonder where? All them dreams got you scared
Forecast cloudy, with a worried mind.
Yeah, your life keeps living, while you're pissin', cryin'
You're busy loving, or you're busy dyin'
Water's getting cold kid, get inside.
And the night comes creeping when you're short of breath
Sun comes up, last time I checked.
Breathe in deep, let go, you'll be fine.
Listen, take a breath. Vision, see yourself
Flying high, in a cool, wet, cloud
Roll out smooth, take a dive. Looking down on a city sky
From up here you got it figured out
You spent too long watching from a nosebleed bleacher.
Cymbals clanging, Mr. TV preacher
Suit up son; it's time you take the ball.
And when you're there wide open, don't you fake and pass it.
Shoot that sucker, like it was your last.
Let go smiling, and watch them blessings fall.
