Come a Long Way

I've come a long way.come a long way
I've come a long way, from yesterday
I'm marching toward a reason, with my heart in my hand
But the feelings just wouldn't come
Bright blue poodle, clouding my noodle
Like a race I was waiting to run
I sit here stirring, my thought wheels purring
With the wheels never touching the ground
But I got call.I'm staying on the mound
(Chorus)
I reach to my heart, to the sky, to the ground
For a signal, a sense, or a sign
To shake these demons, I've long believed
Were angels by my side
They were angels before, when they guarded the door
But now they're shutting everyone out
So I'm taking it slow, letting them know
I'm shaking my shadows of doubt
(Chorus)
The Good Book tells you to breathe 'n smile,
Show up for life each day.
Life got hard, I pulled my guard,
Somewhere, forgot how to play
So I smoke, and I drink, and I go see a shrink
And I search in my sweet lover's eyes
It was all just a bust, 'til I started to trust
That still small voice inside
I've come a long way.come a long way
I've come a long way, from yesterday
